After witnessing a 75-year-old veteran—battling stage IV prostate cancer—be denied critical home modifications by the VA, including repairs to a dangerously rotted deck and the installation of a wheelchair ramp, we knew we couldn’t stand by. When we learned he was also denied a necessary shower expansion to accommodate his wheelchair, we made a decision on the spot: we would step in and complete the work ourselves—at no cost.
That moment became the foundation of who we are.
